The cyclone hit coastal areas of south-west Bangladesh on 25 May 2009. The storm destroyed crops, homes and livestock, affecting more than 350,000 Bangladeshi families. Save the Children delivered vital aid to thousands of families and it set up 150 Child Friendly Spaces in the worst affected areas where children could play and learn in a safe environment.
